Vallejo Street Residence

San Francisco, California

Twelve feet wide and supported by the adjacent buildings, Dwell Magazine calls this residence the “tiniest house in San Francisco”.  The Owners, internationally known graphic designer and typographer, retained Holey Associates to remodel this 609 square foot residence with an existing dirt floor at the street level floor, to be their “pied-a-terre” in the United States. The project included new concrete foundations and matte slab so that the residence could actually support itself, creative use of design elements and the efficiency of a boat cabin.

The residence was featured on the San Francisco AIA Summer House Tour and was published in Dwell Magazine.
